The Prophet Priest: Four Addresses Delivered at the Mildmay Conference, 1895
These four Addresses were delivered by the Rev. Andrew Murray, of Wellington, South Africa, at the Mildmay Conference of 1895.
As this little booklet may find its way to all parts of the world, and as Mr. Murray, in his warm introduction, makes special allusion to the "gatherings of the saints of God at Mildmay," it may be desirable to refer to the origin of these Conferences.
They were commenced at Barnet, near London, in 1856 by the Rev. W. and Mrs. Pennefather, who longed for the manifestation of true Christian union; and they were continued when he became Vicar of St. Jude's, Mildmay Park.
Mildmay is therefore the mother of the many Conferences of Believers which are new convened all over the world.
Out of the Mildmay Conferences, too, sprang the many loving ministries, of which a short resume is given in the appendix for the information of interested readers.
