The Godly Man's Ark

The Godly Man's Ark

by Edmund Calamy
Edmund Calamy (1600–1666) was an English Presbyterian church leader and divine. He was an active member of the Westminster Assembly, and distinguished himself in defense of Presbyterian polity, in contributing to the joint conciliatory work known as Smectymnuus. During this time, Calamy was an influential evangelical preacher, with a ministry throughout England, including be present during the dreadful fire of London in 1666.

This newly typeset work is based on Psalm 119:92, “Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.” Calamy covers three important areas in five biblically rich sermons, 1. That the dearest of God’s saints are subject to many great and tedious afflictions. 2. That the Word of God is the saints’ darling and delight. And, 3. That the law of God delighted in, is the afflicted saint’s antidote against ruin and destruction.
