Such and such like things are occurring not unfrequently; and, since such things are likely to occur, it is time that we should apply that Corrective which belongs to us in this land - namely, the enlightened public sentiment of the intelligent Christian men of all churches. And, in behalf of men excommunicated from any sect. Whatever - not for immorality, nor for the violation of fundamental faith, but merely for violating human regulations or custmns - in behalf of them all, I appeal from the judicatory to the enlightened sentiment of the Christian community, with out regard to sect.
