Zac Poonen ( - Present)

God called brother Zac Poonen to a new work early on in his Christian experience. The movement is now called Christian Fellowship Churches where the New Covenant of New Testament Christianity is clearly preached.

Brother Zac Poonen has written 25 books most of them being on the deeper Christian life. Many of these have been translated into a number of languages and have been circulated widely around the world. The Seven Pillars Of Wisdom

In Proverbs chapter 9, we see the Bride and the Harlot clearly contrasted. In the first 12 verses of that chapter, the Bride invites all the foolish to turn from their foolish ways and to quit their sinful company (v.6) and to learn the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom (v.10). In t... Read More

The Signs of Christ's Coming

The Bible tells us of a number of events that would take place immediately before Christ's return to earth. Here are some of them: (1) Wars, famines and earthquakes (Matt. 24:7). These have been there on earth at all times. But there has been a great increase in their number since the Second World W... Read More

The Sovereignty Of The Spirit

The Holy Spirit is sovereign and works in varied ways. Jesus said, " Just as you can hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from or where it will go next, so it is with the Spirit " (John 3:8-LB). You can't control the wind - either its speed or its direction. So too with the Holy Spirit. And y... Read More

The Spirit And The Cross

There is perhaps no clearer description of the Spirit- filled life than in Paul's statement in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ. It is no longer I but Christ that lives in me." For what is the purpose of the fullness of the Spirit if not to reproduce the life of Jesus in us? And so the me... Read More

The Spirit of Grace and Power

I want to speak today on grace and power in the Holy Spirit. I want to begin with the first promise in the New Testament. Yesterday I mentioned, that when we come to the Word of God, if we don’t come with an open mind, we may not see new truths. We’ll see the old truths again and again, and perhaps ... Read More

The Spirit Of Praise

In each of the 7 glimpses of heaven given in the book of Revelation, we see the inhabitants of heaven continuously praising God with a loud voice - sometimes as loud as thunders and as the noise of roaring rivers. This is the atmosphere of heaven - one of continual praise, without any complaints or ... Read More

The Spirit of Praise and Holiness

In 2 Chronicles 20, we see a picture of how we can wage warfare against Satan. There we read of a great multitude that came against King Jehoshaphat. But Jehoshaphat did the right thing, when confronted by so many enemies. He got the whole nation of Judah to seek God in fasting and prayer. Then he p... Read More

The Spirit Of Prophecy

When God is present in our midst, we will hear Him speaking to us powerfully in the meetings. That is the meaning of prophecy. In old covenant times, prophecy was meant for foretelling the future and for guiding people as to what they should do. But now, in the new covenant, prophecy is for exhortat... Read More

The Testing Of David

God testified concerning David saying, "I have found David, a man after My own heart, who will do all my will" (Acts 13:22). Saul had been God's first choice as king of Israel. But Saul failed in both the tests that God gave him - through impatience (1 Sam. 13) and disobedience (1 Sam. 15). And so G... Read More

The Testing Of Elisha And Gehazi

At a critical time in the history of Israel, God raised up the prophet Elijah to be His witness to the nation. Elijah had a servant called Elisha whom God selected as the next prophet to the nation. Elisha had a servant called Gehazi. It is an interesting study to see the contrast between Elisha and... Read More

The Testing Of Moses

God tested Moses twice to see whether he would seek his own honour at the expense of the Israelites. In both cases Moses passed the test with flying colours. The first occasion was when the children of Israel had rebelled against God through making the golden calf. God then told Moses, "Now let Me a... Read More

(2) "Episcopal"(conformist) and "Free church" (non-conformist) - depending on church-pattern. (3) "Born again Christians" and "Nominal Christians" - depending on a... Read More

The Truth About Speaking in Tongues

"Every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation (change)" (James. 1:17). God never makes a mistake, He never changes and He gives only perfect gifts. Therefore when He gave the gift of "speaking in unknown languages" ("tongues") to the church... Read More

The Truth Concerning Salvation

The word of God speaks of "salvation" in three tenses - past (Eph. 2:8), present (Phil. 2:12) and future (Rom. 13:11) - or in other words, of justification, sanctification and glorification. Salvation has a foundation and a superstructure. The foundation is forgiveness of sins and justification. Jus... Read More

The Truth That We Believe

We are commanded in the Scriptures to pay close attention to ourselves and to our teaching, for only thus can we ensure salvation for ourselves and for those we preach to (1 Tim.4:16). Our life and our doctrine are like two legs that give stability to our Christian life. Both legs should be equally ... Read More

The Variety of the Spirit's Working

The Holy Spirit is likened to the wind in the Scriptures; and the wind blows in different ways at different times. "So is everyone who is born of the Spirit", Jesus said (Jn. 3:8). Each believer's experience will therefore be different in the external details of being baptised in the Holy Spirit. Th... Read More

The Video Tape Of Our Memory

With a video-camera it is now possible to record exactly the scenes and sounds that we see and hear around us. When this video-tape is later replayed on a screen, it will portray exactly what took place. The Bible says that a day is coming when we will all have to give an account of ourselves to God... The Way to A Happy New Year

In John's gospel, Jesus used the symbol of water to describe three levels of spiritual development possible through the Holy Spirit: • Level 1: In John 3:5, He spoke of being "born of water and the Spirit".
