Paul is on the steps to the Fortress of Antonia, looking down upon the Temple area where previously the Jews tried to kill him. Now in the hands of the Romans Paul asks the commander if he can speak to the people and Paul gives to them a defense of his faith. 
 
In this section you will see that it can be broken down into three sections. In Acts 22:3-5 we see Paul’s conduct before his conversion. In Acts 22:6-16 we see the Conversion of Paul. And in Acts 22:17-21 we see the Ministry of Paul. 
 
Some powerful words in this section and it will lead to Paul speaking to the Jewish religious leaders in Acts chapter 23.

In this section of Acts chapter 20 we will finish up Paul’s meeting with the Ephesian elders there at Miletus. As Paul finishes up admonishing them in their service to the Lord there are two more points that Paul gives to them. 
 
In Acts 20:32 we will see Paul speak to them and say that they are to STUDY AND PRAY. And then, as we conclude these teaching that Paul had with these men we see in Acts 20:33-35 that Paul admonishes them to BE CONTENT. And as Paul finishes he prays for them and they weep as the see Paul sailing away, heading to Jerusalem. Paul invested in their lives and they loved Paul dearly. What an example to us of what we are to do as we serve the Lord.

We are going to be looking at in these verses three more points that we can apply to our lives. In Acts 20:22-25 and we will see Paul speak of A LIFE OF SACRIFICE. That is the Christian life, a life surrendered to the Lord. We will also look at in Acts 20:26-28 that these leaders are to SHEPHERD THE FLOCK. And again, the idea here is teaching the sheep the whole counsel of God! And then in Acts 20:29-31 Paul tells these leaders to PROTECT THE SHEEP. Yes we are to teach the sheep the Word of God, we are to love the sheep and we are also to warn the sheep of the dangers that are out there! Some powerful lessons we can learn from.

Here in Matthew chapter 28 we see that after the 
resurrection of Jesus Christ the angel told the women to go 
and tell His disciples that He is risen and to wait in Galilee 
for He will meet with them there. It is here in Galilee that we 
see Jesus give to His disciples the Great Commission. 
In this portion of Scripture we see Jesus tell us that we are 
to go out because ALL AUTHORITY has been given to Him. 
Not only is that true but then He tells us where to go, to ALL 
NATIONS with the Good News. Then we are to teach them 
ALL HE HAS COMMANDED US and He concludes with 
the fact that He will ALWAYS BE WITH US! 
May we respond to that call and be like Isaiah who said, 
"Here am I! Send me."

Here in Matthew chapter 28 we see that after the

Matthew 28:1-15 The Empty Tomb! - 01-26-2014

The Jewish religious leaders closed the ears to the truth that Jesus is the Savior, God Incarnate even though the Scriptures clearly spoke of this.  Because they refused to accept that truth, because they refused to come to Jesus and receive that forgiveness of sins, they passed that point of no return and could not be saved!  Thus, Jesus condemns these religious leaders and says to them, "Serpents, brood of vipers!  How can you escape the condemnation of hell?"  Matthew 23:33.  You see, they rejected the only One who could forgive their sins, cleanse them from their sins and thus, they could not escape "the condemnation of hell."  And as Jesus finishes this rebuke of these religious leaders He laments over Jerusalem because destruction and judgment was coming was coming upon them, it was less than 40 years away.  And in the end, they will not see the Lord, the Jews specifically, until they say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!"  Matthew 23:39.  God is not done with Israel and the only way their sin can and will be forgiven is when they come to Jesus and that is true of everyone!  May you come to Him and receive Him because apart from Him you can't escape the condemnation of hell!

Matthew 23:13-39 Woe to Religion Part 2

The Jewish religious leaders continue to try and discredit Jesus by asking Him by whose authority He was doing these things. And Jesus poses a question for them in regards to John the Baptist, "Was his ministry from God or men?" They refused to answer because if they said from God then why did they not believe that Jesus is God, since John taught that. If it was from men then the people would be upset with these religious leaders because they believed John was a prophet. 
 
It is out of that we see Jesus begin a series of parables coming against the Jewish religious leaders. They refused the truth, they did not want to accept the truth and in the end they were going to lose. It all boils down to this for these religious leaders and for every person today as Jesus said, "And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder." Matthew 21:44. If you refuse to humble yourself before Him, broken over your sin, then you will be ground to a powder, you will face His judgment. May you fall down before Him and receive Him as Lord and Savior of your life!

Here in Matthew chapter 17 we see Jesus deliver a demon possessed young man whose father brought him to Jesus. We see Jesus speak of His coming death and resurrection. And we see Jesus instruct us on godly living. Three important points Jesus was giving to His men and to us. The first is INSTRUCTIONS ON FAITH and it is not just faith in anything or anyone but faith in Jesus and His promise to us. We see INSTRUCTIONS ON UNDERSTANDING and the point is that we need to believe what God has said to us even when we don't understand it with our finite minds. And we see INSTRUCTION IN GODLY LIVING and the idea here is obeying God's Word, being the best citizens in this world. Just like with His disciples, the Lord is always teaching us and stretching our faith, may we learn and grow in Him!

Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
