Although the 12 apostles were sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and they were to go only to Israel until Jesus' second coming, Peter goes to the Gentiles in Acts 10. That is because the prophecy program has been put on hold, and God commissioned Peter to give the Holy Ghost to saved Gentiles, leaving James, the half brother of Jesus, as the leader of saved Jews within the prophecy dispensation.

We experience dry baptism into Christ's death by the Holy Spirit so that our body of sin is destroyed, making us free from sin. We are now under grace, not under the law, and can yield our flesh to God to be servants of righteousness.
