After Paul has given the Colossians an introduction into why he is giving thanks for them and praying for them, he let’s them know that Christ is preeminent as Creator and Head of the Church. They have been reconciled and that can’t be taken from them, all accomplished by Jesus. Now he gives them an understanding through personal testimony of how a reconciled person should suffer for the Reconciler Jesus.
