What keeps you focused on Christ and His Gospel? what "turns you aside quickly"?
How far into the 40 day wait would you give up? how quickly do you give up in the middle waiting time? Had they forgotten the Manna? their deliverance? This is still the process of leaving behind the familiar because change is exhausting! So turning aside for a small break seems reasonable, yet it leads to complete "turn away from" so quickly. So what keeps you focused on Christ?
