Rahab's story...
Rahab already had a testimony of God and His works. She provided safe haven fearlessly. The scarlet thread here reminds us of the red blood on door frames during the Passover - a symbol also of Christ saving us. Rahab is an ancestor, a grandmother in Christ's ancestral line. we do not know why she was called harlot, yet her example shows us there is room for all of us at Jesus' table no matter what our past is. Redemption, forgiveness and adoption into the House of Israel are very real things. As you partake of the Sacrament remember scarlet thread, blood - the saving, healing and protection that Jesus Christ's Atonement gives us.
