I have been preaching and teaching Bible for over 50 years. In 1957, I began studying the scriptures diligently after graduating from high school. In 1980, God began dealing with me, bringing me to what I believed was my deathbed in 1985. 
 
In the hospital, I awoke near death crying out to God, "Lord, You are going to kill me if I don't quit living for myself and saying all the truth in my power!!!" 
 
Thereafter, I began to say these blunt plain words that appeal to the elect sheep. As a result, I began to make more enemies than I could have ever imagined. I was sick and tired of the “mush” gospel that churches were preaching. 
 
My family was confused, and on many occasions on the way home from church, my wife would say, "he said such-and-such last week and he said this-and-that this week contradicting what he said the previous week." I began to say to my wife Mary, "don't listen to the preacher, because he doesn't know what he’s talking about." Finally, I said, "this is a waste of time! We are going home. We are not going to these churches anymore. I will teach you from our home." 
 
Twenty years ago, we started Grace and Truth Ministries which included my wife, son and one other young man. We started taping the sermons shortly thereafter. Grace and Truth Ministries is now meeting in a building located in Hendersonville, TN. 
 
Last year, by the grace of God, we gave away approximately 25,000 DVDs free-of-charge. 
 
We regularly add more television, radio and internet to get the truth to those who have ears to hear.

God Has Chosen 
 
Romans 8:29-30 - "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." Foreknow - to have a personal intimate relationship beforehand. 
 
God predetermined that all who belonged to him before the foundation of the world were to "conform" to the word of God in obedience to Christ. 
 
All that were predestined were "called", "justified", and "glorified" (past tense verbs). These were fixed in the mind of God before the world began. (Ephesians 1:4; Acts 13:48; II Thessalonians 2:13). The election of the saints is unto accountability (I Peter 1:2). 
 
The majority of the protestant church held to this doctrine during the reformation. It is the foundation of "The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689". 
 
You Baptists are supposed to be believing it and you've discarded this precious doctrine of Grace !!! 
 
No Free Will 
John 1:13 - Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 
James 1:18 - Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his 
creatures.

In the hospital, I awoke near death crying out to God, "Lord, You are going to kill me if I don't quit living for myself and saying all the truth in my power!!!" 
 
Thereafter, I began to say these blunt plain words that appeal to the elect sheep. As a result, I began to make more enemies than I could have ever imagined. I was sick and tired of the “mush” gospel that churches were preaching. 
 
My family was confused, and on many occasions on the way home from church, my wife would say, "he said such-and-such last week and he said this-and-that this week contradicting what he said the previous week." I began to say to my wife Mary, "don't listen to the preacher, because he doesn't know what he’s talking about." Finally, I said, "this is a waste of time! We are going home. We are not going to these churches anymore. I will teach you from our home." 
 
Twenty years ago, we started Grace and Truth Ministries which included my wife, son and one other young man. We started taping the sermons shortly thereafter. Grace and Truth Ministries is now meeting in a building located in Hendersonville, TN. 
 
Last year, by the grace of God, we gave away approximately 25,000 DVDs free-of-charge.

God Has Chosen 
 
Romans 8:29-30 - "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." Foreknow - to have a personal intimate relationship beforehand. 
 
 
God predetermined that all who belonged to him before the foundation of the world were to "conform" to the word of God in obedience to Christ. 
 
All that were predestined were "called", "justified", and "glorified" (past tense verbs). These were fixed in the mind of God before the world began. (Ephesians 1:4; Acts 13:48; II Thessalonians 2:13). The election of the saints is unto accountability (I Peter 1:2). 
 
The majority of the protestant church held to this doctrine during the reformation. It is the foundation of "The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689". 
 
You Baptists are supposed to be believing it and you've discarded this precious doctrine of Grace !!!

First, all three members of the Trinity—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—are involved in salvation. Second, the focal point is the coming of Jesus into the world, the reason behind the celebration of Christmas. Paul says that Jesus was “sent forth”— a phrase that has caused many questions throughout the centuries among New Testament scholars, but Dr. Lloyd-Jones provides answers to help understand what this means. Third, what does Paul’s statement of “the fullness of time” mean? Is it in an evolutionary sense that the present is better than the past? There is a tendency, perhaps even an insistence upon, turning the Christmas message into an entirely different message than its original meaning. The contemporary Western culture is constantly looking for ways to undermine the truth about Jesus of Nazareth. One way is found in the sophisticated attempt to undermine the supernatural incarnation of Christ. In other words, modern humanity cannot believe in miracles like the virgin birth and God taking on human flesh, so the world encourages the dismissal of this and instead focuses on the Christmas holiday as a great principle to humanity. nuggets of wisdom as we continue our exploration into the book of Proverbs 
Chapter 6. Yesterday we explored verses 12-19, and today we will dig into verses

We are recording our podcast from our studio at Home2 in Charlotte, North 
Carolina. I know that Christmas is close when I make my world famous caramel 
corn. At least it is famous in my little world. I made 12 batches total with 
some batches including either pecans, almonds, or walnuts. We give most of it 
away to siblings and neighbors but do keep some of the delicious, mouthwatering 
treat for ourselves.  These are a few of the huge walnut bowls where I place the 
finished product. 
 
 
 
It is great to have traditions in our lives which are part of our living 
legacy. I know that our grown kids will be looking forward to some fresh batches 
of caramel corn when we celebrate Christmas with them on January 9th.  They 
won’t be disappointed. 
 
As we remain in camp for this week in our study of Proverbs Chapter 6, it 
reminds me of several years when Paula and I took our kids, and usually many of 
their friends and church youth groups, for a week of primitive camping at a 
music festival in the hills of Pennsylvania called Creation Fest. We all have 
many fond memories of our times there. It is my hope that you and I are forming 
those fond memories and friendships as we share together each day on our 
Wisdom-Trek. 
 
 
 
Let’s get started for today and dig for more nuggets of wisdom as we explore 
Proverbs 6:20-29. This chapter in Proverbs is referred to as… 
Lessons for Daily Life 
Today I will read the entire passage, and then we will break it down into small 
segments as we dive deeper into our exploration. 
 
20 My son, obey your father’s commands, 
and don’t neglect your mother’s instruction. 
21 Keep their words always in your heart. 
Tie them around your neck. 
22 When you walk, their counsel will lead you. 
When you sleep, they will protect you. 
When you wake up, they will advise you. 
23 For their command is a lamp 
and their instruction a light; 
their corrective discipline 
is the way to life. 
24 It will keep you from the immoral woman, 
from the smooth tongue of a promiscuous woman. 
25 Don’t lust for her beauty. 
Don’t let her coy glances seduce you. 
26 For a prostitute will bring you to poverty, 
but sleeping with another man’s wife will cost you your life. 
27 Can a man scoop a flame into his lap 
and not have his clothes catch on fire? 
28 Can he walk on hot coals 
and not blister his feet? 
29 So it is with the man who sleeps with another man’s wife. 
He who embraces her will not go unpunished. 
 
So now let’s do a deep dive into the verses. 
 
20 My son, obey your father’s commands,

We should love wisdom. Wisdom should be in our hearts and in our minds. We keep 
wisdom in our minds or hearts by constantly being aware of the choices that we 
make. Wisdom should be so evident in our lives it is as if we are wearing a very 
noticeable necklace. We should always live in a wise manner. 
 
 
 
22 When you walk, their counsel will lead you. 
When you sleep, they will protect you. 
When you wake up, they will advise you. 
 
This is a theme of Wisdom-Trek…Life is like a journey. Wisdom will guide us each 
day. Wisdom will help us to make the right decisions. At night when we sleep, 
our wise decisions will protect us. As we wake, we can think about wisdom.

As Iron Sharpens Iron - Proverbs 27:15-27 
 
 
Thank you for joining us for our 5 days per week wisdom and legacy building 
podcast. Today is Day 521 of our trek, and it is Wisdom Wednesday. Every 
Wednesday along life’s trails, we dig for the nuggets of wisdom that are found 
within the book of Proverbs. Today we will explore the 2nd half of Chapter 27. 
 
We are broadcasting from our studio at The Big House in Marietta, Ohio. This 
past weekend we had our delayed Chamberlain Christmas celebration with our 5 
kids, their spouses, and 6 grandkids. We had a blessed time sharing life and a 
few gifts. Paula made each couple a “picnic quilt” and neatly folded and placed 
it in a picnic basket. They all looked beautiful, and the kids really 
appreciated them. 
 
Of course, the time we invested with all of our grandkids was extra 
special. This season of life where we are friends and mentors to our grown 
children is rewarding. We are always open to what they are learning and 
experiencing so that we can continue to grow in wisdom, insight, and 
understanding. This reminds me of verse 17 of our passage today, which says…

Let’s start our trek, as we explore verses 15-27. 
More Proverbs of Solomon 
15 A quarrelsome wife is as annoying 
as constant dripping on a rainy day. 
16 Stopping her complaints is like trying to stop the wind 
or trying to hold something with greased hands. 
It is difficult being around a person who enjoys arguing and complaining. This 
is especially true in a marriage situation where you cannot walk away from or 
avoid your spouse. If you have a spouse who is prone to complaining and arguing, 
gently over time encourage them to change their attitude for the benefit and 
preservation of your marriage. While you can encourage them to change, it must 
be their decision, since it is impossible for us to change someone else. If you 
attempt to change them, it is like a constant dripping or holding onto something 
with greased hands, no matter how much you try, the results are not 
effective. One note of caution, check yourself to make sure you are not a person 
who argues or complains. 
 
 
17 As iron sharpens iron, 
so a friend sharpens a friend. 
To sharpen a knife or ax, many times the tool used to sharpen the other tool is 
made of the same materials. In the same way, the best way to improve and grow is 
to be part of a peer group or mastermind where it is the intent to help each 
other grow, improve, and mature. This requires loving honesty with each other 
for your mutual benefit. 
 
 
 
 
18 As workers who tend a fig tree are allowed to eat the fruit, 
so workers who protect their employer’s interests will be rewarded. 
A farmer who grows and takes care of the crops is rewarded by being able to 
consume part of what is grown. In the same manner, a good worker should be 
rewarded for helping the business owner to be profitable. This is why I 
personally favor compensation based on overall performance and tied to the 
profitability of the business. 
 
 
19 As a face is reflected in water, 
so the heart reflects the real person. 
Water or a mirror will show you what you really look like instead of what you 
may picture in your mind. In the same way, your talk and actions will reflect 
the person you truly are, regardless of what you attempt to show to others. 
 
 
20 Just as Death and Destruction are never satisfied, 
so human desire is never satisfied. 
Death will come to us all eventually, there is no way to prevent it. A wildfire 
will continue its destruction as long as there is fuel to consume. In the same 
way, no earthly “things” will ever bring us lasting satisfaction. Our desires 
will continue to be fueled by more. It is only when we base our desire on 
spiritual nourishment that we will be satisfied with life.

I have been preaching and teaching Bible for over 50 years. In 1957, I began studying the scriptures diligently after graduating from high school. In 1980, God began dealing with me, bringing me to what I believed was my deathbed in 1985. God Has Chosen 
Romans 8:29-30 - "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." 
 
Foreknow - to have a personal intimate relationship beforehand. 
 
God predetermined that all who belonged to him before the foundation of the world were to "conform" to the word of God in obedience to Christ. 
 
All that were predestined were "called", "justified", and "glorified" (past tense verbs). These were fixed in the mind of God before the world began. (Ephesians 1:4; Acts 13:48; II Thessalonians 2:13). The election of the saints is unto accountability (I Peter 1:2). 
 
The majority of the protestant church held to this doctrine during the reformation. It is the foundation of "The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689". You Baptists are supposed to be believing it and you've discarded this precious doctrine of Grace !!!

God Has Chosen 
Romans 8:29-30 - "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Foreknow - to have a personal intimate relationship beforehand 
 
God predetermined that all who belonged to him before the foundation of the world were to "conform" to the word of God in obedience to Christ
