You know there is more to being a homemaker than cooking, cleaning, and feeling you’re just surviving every day. You desire to see the purpose in what you’re doing, that you're making a difference in the lives of your loved ones. You don’t want to get caught up in comparing yourself to others or grumbling about the work set before you. 

Your role as a homemaker matters to God. You can find contentment and joy in caring for your home and family when you keep your eyes on Christ and His calling for your life. Our contentment in our homemaking begins with finding our satisfaction in Christ. 

I'm thankful you're here and I hope to always point us to Jesus where we will find gospel-driven encouragement in our role as women, wives, mothers, and homemakers.

70! This boy is indeed amazing! We are missing 5 days but this is a milestone already! I didn't expect Elijah to go this far too! I chose this verse because of the song we just recorded for the church to tell him more about the Good Shepherd. ???? 
Sharing our 70 out of 100 bible verses until Christmas: 
"I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep, and they know me. Just as the Father knows me, I know the Father, and I give up my life for my sheep" - John 10:14-15 
It is so comforting to know that Jesus knows us personally. He modeled a great relationship of Him and His Father. This reminded me on how God is intimate with us and how He wants us to be intimate with Him too. 
Thank you Lord because you know us personally, posting these daily verses made me study your Word more at the same time teach my child about You! Help us to give back to you this kind of love you have for us.

We are a church that believes in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, therefore we exist to know Jesus and make him known in the valley and throughout the world. We desire to bring renewal, restoration and redemption as we tell those around us of the life-giving message found in Jesus. We act by serving those who are in need because we are called to be people of faith and action.
Our Mission

The name - Illuminate Community Church. The word "illuminate" means, "to shine the light." It's our mission to shine the light on Jesus by knowing Him and making Him known. There are many metaphors in the Bible that use light as a symbol of God's truth. Jesus said this about himself in John 8:12 "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

I was thinking about this Christmas season and its potential for greater impact than many others. The reason is simple - we are a world and a country that continues to be filled with anxiety. What is the cure? The cure came 2000 years ago but not in the way anyone anticipated. A world changer would be expected to come from behind palace walls and certainly from a family of great influence. Instead, Jesus was born in a lowly stable and placed in a manger and his parents were unwed and poor teenagers. The baby would grow to be a man and that man had the most significant impact of anyone who has ever walked the earth. Lest we forget - Christmas holds the word “Christ.” 
 
Jesus came to bring what we want in this world and what we need right now. Soon you will be receiving Christmas cards and letters that have a peaceful theme and we will sing songs that speak of "peace on earth." But you know I’ve found that the concept of peace means different things to different people. We find ancient distractions to relieve ourselves of our modern pain. Spend money, have a few more drinks, go all out and indulge in something you know you'll really regret. Meanwhile, there is a peace that lasts... 
 
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” Luke 2:13-14 
 
The word 'multitude' describes a huge number...like hundreds of thousands. It seems each angel in heaven could not contain his enthusiasm. So as we enter this season, let's remind ourselves of where lasting peace is found. Look inside that lowly stable and stare into the worn-out manger in the little town of Bethlehem. Doesn't the simplicity of it all tell you something? Your peace has arrived.
