Zac Poonen

Zac Poonen ( - Present)

God called brother Zac Poonen to a new work early on in his Christian experience. The movement is now called Christian Fellowship Churches where the New Covenant of New Testament Christianity is clearly preached.

Brother Zac Poonen has written 25 books most of them being on the deeper Christian life. Many of these have been translated into a number of languages and have been circulated widely around the world. He clearly and passionately shares the narrow way of Christian discipleship that is neglected by so many modern preachers.

Four Reasons Why God Blessed Jacob

1. Alone with God: Jacob was blessed in the place where he was alone with God. He sent everyone else away and was alone (Gen. 32:24). 20th century believers find it difficult to spend much time alone with God. The spirit of the jet- age has got into most of us, and we are in a perpetual state of bus... Read More

Four Types of Backsliders

The Bible says that one of the signs of the end-times will be a great apostasy (falling away from the faith) (2 Thess.2:3). Backsliding has become a very common feature in all churches now. Jesus spoke about four types of backsliders in the three parables in Luke 15 - represented by the lost sheep, ... Read More

Fourth Requirement For Spiritual Progress-The Way Of The Cross

Jesus, as our Forerunner (One Who has run the same race ahead of us), has opened a way for us to enter the Father's presence and dwell there all the time. This way is called "the new and living way" (Heb.10:20). Paul speaks of it as "always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus" (2 Cor.4:10)... Read More

Freedom from Fear

One of the first things we read that happened to Adam as soon as he sinned, and when God came and spoke to him, was that he got afraid. It’s the first time that fear is mentioned in the Bible. When God came to him and He asked where he was hiding among the trees. And he said, “I was afraid,” and eve... Read More

Freedom from Perpetual Backsliding

In the book of Judges, we read of 13 judges whom God raised up in chapters 3 to 16. The fourteenth judge was Samuel whom we read about in 1 Samuel. The names of most of these judges are not so well known. The first judge was a man called Othniel who was the son-in-law and the nephew of Caleb (Judges... Read More

Freedom From Selfishness

God is looking for men and women even today in our land, who will stand in the gap for the church - selfless people, who are not taken up with just their own needs, but who are concerned about God's work. Many believers think that sanctification means just the refinement of their personal conduct an... Read More

Freedom from the Spirit of the World

Separation from the world is a leading theme of the New Testament. Before He went to the cross Jesus told His disciples that they did not belong to the world. Jesus was Himself one apart - "not of this world." And He affirmed that His disciples were just as truly other-worldly. And because they did ... Read More

Fulfilling God’s Purpose for Our Life

"But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, and be found in him, not ... Fulfilling Our Calling

Spirit-filled service is a service that fulfils God's specific calling. In Colossians 1:23, 25, Paul says, " I am made a minister;" and in 1 Timothy 2:7, " I am ordained an apostle " - ordained by the nail pierced Hands of Jesus, and not by any earthly ritual. God called Paul to be an apostle. This ... Read More

Giving Up All Our Possessions

The third condition of discipleship is that we must give up all our own possessions. Jesus said, "No one of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions" (Lk. 14:33). Our possessions are what we possess as our own. To give them all up means that we no longer consider anything ... Read More

Glory Of God

God IS Love. It is not that He just acts lovingly. He IS in His very essence LOVE. The glory of God as seen in Jesus, manifests this clearly. Jesus did not just perform acts of love. He went about "doing good" (Acts 10:38). But that was because the love of God flooded His whole being. Love has its o... Read More

God and Mammon

It is interesting to see that even though Jesus referred to Satan as "the ruler of this world" (John 14:30), He never referred to Satan as the alternative master to God, whom people have the choice of serving. When Jesus spoke of two masters whom man could serve, He said that the two were God and Ma... Read More

God Calls Those Who Are Faithful in Their Secular Work to Serve Him

Amos started prophesying about 40 years after Elisha. If Gehazi (Elisha's servant) had not chased after Naaman's money and thus ruined himself, it is possible that he may have got a double portion of Elisha's anointing and become the next prophet in Israel. In that case, Gehazi may have written this... Read More

God Calls "Zeroes"

In 1 Corinthians 3:5, Paul asks the question "What then is Apollos and what is Paul?". We would reply that Paul was a mighty apostle of the Lord, who had raised the dead, established many churches, and even written Scripture. But he says of himself, "What is Paul? A SERVANT". That was his opinion of... Read More

God Can Give You Wisdom to Handle Any Problem

The Bible says there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother, and that is Jesus Christ. So when we know God as a Father Who cares, we are no longer orphans. An orphan is a person who has got no father and mother. If he has a need suddenly, whom can he go to? He can go to some uncle or some aun... Read More

God Controls Our Circumstances

In the book of Esther, we read of how God rescued the Jews from being slaughtered as a race. But it is amazing to see how God did it - through one small incident - that the king could not sleep one night. Haman and his wife had been plotting one night to get the king's permission to hang Mordecai on... Read More

God Does Not Want Our Offerings, But Our Body as a Living Sacrifice

In Hebrews 10:5, we read that "God doesn't want our offerings." I quote this verse to people who have suffered under preachers who have kept on telling them that God wants their offerings. What does it say here that God desires from us? - Our bodies. Under the old covenant, the emphasis was, "Pay yo... Read More

God Dwells in a Home Where There Is Peace, Humility and Holiness

In Exodus 25:8, we see for the first time, God revealing His will that He wants to dwell with man. "Let them construct a sanctuary…that I may dwell among them." That was referring to the tabernacle upon which the fire of God rested - the glory of God that marked those Israelites out as different fro... Read More

God Has Appointed "Helps" In The Church

"You are Christ's body, and individually members of it. God Helps Those Who Are Weak

The world says that God helps those who help themselves. But the Bible says that God helps those who are UNABLE to help themselves. He is the God of the weak and the helpless.
