This series is meant to encourage and equip us to break through apathy, discouragement, and opposition and to be victorious in our pursuit of Jesus. God is calling us to this. He is ready to do a work, but we need to bow down and seek Him now. 
 
This is a time where God is asking us to seek Him. He’s asking each of us to step up. To lead, spiritually, in our homes, with our brothers and sister, and in our workplaces. We believe that God can take our little church and draw out of it — out of the Body of Christ — rivers of living water. Water that can flood over Connecticut. Will you join us in praying, in fasting in fighting the battle? Will you plead with the Lord to pour out His Spirit in power? Will you ask the Lord to search your own heart, to root out any apathy and discouragement? Let us be prepared to go where Jesus has us to go.

So far in our study through the book of Philippians, 
the overall theme has been approaching happiness. 
Now is the time of arrival. Over the course of the 
next six weeks, we will be looking at practical 
applications in our everyday lives that will allow us 
to grab hold of this happiness that has already been 
secured for us. In this study, ownership of God’s gift 
of happiness is our aim.

So far in our study through the book of Philippians,

There is a problem, though: we are not seeing that level of impact in our region today. And yet, we see in our passage that God has made His vision regarding the Church and its world-altering purpose known.

Pride is everywhere. Perhaps we’ve even come to accept it as normal. However, in the Word, God makes it clear that pride is a serious danger for His people.

There is a road that all will travel. It is a road that most want to avoid but it is unavoidable. Doubt is the very substance that creates a foundation for faith to rest upon. 
 
Today, we will see two of Jesus’ followers as they journey through doubt. We will find their experience very familiar, but extremely helpful at the same time. 
 
Let us learn from these followers of old how to journey when hope seems to have failed.

For the last decade, Calvary Chapel Southbury has been involved extensively in outreach to Malawi and Mozambique, two of the poorest countries in the world. We provide food, clean drinking water and education to some of the most vulnerable members of society. 
 
Recently, we have also provided emergency relief to refugees of the devastating flood that affected Malawi. Pastor Mateya helps oversee all of this work and has been an integral part of this endeavor from the start. He looks forward to being able to share stories of the transformation that God has accomplished in Malawi & Mozambique through this ongoing work.

The wording may at first seem harsh because of the extreme devastation that would happen but in the midst of it all we will see an attribute of God that always comes out, even in the harshest circumstances. 
 
We need to grab hold of this especially for the days in which we live.

Today, we begin a new series where we will get a biblical perspective on end-time events. Along with that, we are also going to see how we are to live and what our response should be to these events. 
 
I do not think there is a series more timely than this one. It will amaze you how many people in our nation believe that we are living in the end times and that Jesus will return during their lifetime. 
 
We need to understand what Jesus said would occur in the last days, so that we can join the conversation that is happening all around us.
