Pulga (Flea Market). I saw so many ways to control a chaotic world: candles, rocks, perfumes. We all want to control our world, but GOd tells us to have no other gods/idols. This commandment (1 and 2) is given, not to make us feel bad, but to set us free from things that are only a semblance of power. As our kids go back to school, I can't give a magic taliman to go with them and keep them safe from all harm, but all of us can ask that God goes with them, watches over them, and guides them, in good times and bad.

"God gives seed to the farmer and food to those who need to eat. God will also give you seed and multiply it. In your lives he will increase the things you do that have his approval. God will make you rich enough so that you can always be generous. Your generosity will produce thanksgiving to God because of us." 2 Corinthians 9:10-11<br />
Where we are (.0075%) and where we hope to be (10%). How we long to change the world, to make an impact in the community, but our budget doesn't reflect that. The 5 year goal of tithing. And the invitation for all the families and indviduals in the church to join us on that journey.

Money struggles can feel like being trapped in a box with rising water. Earning all we can raises the ceiling, saving all we can lowers the water line. That comes from contentment, sacrifice and making a plan (budget) and we do it so we can feel the freedom of not worrying about money. And so we can get to the last step- generosity. How the church is doing that. How they can, too.
