Walking through Mark 10:17–29 and Mark 12:41–44, it contrasts the rich young ruler who couldn’t let go with the poor widow who gave everything, exposing the difference between trying faith and committed faith. After years of emotional bondage, Jesus met her in her most broken place and brought healing. Today, Tessa serves as a leader on our Anti-Sex Trafficking team, which is striving to free 200 victims in three years as God invites us to join His work.

As Jesus fed a crowd of 4,000 people, he showed us how to say Yes to compassion. Compassion is never just a feeling. Compassion is an internal gut reaction, that leads to external action. Jesus modeled the idea of Compassion and. His sense of compassion was always followed by an action to meet a real need whether it be spiritual, emotional or physical.
