Is Jesus Just For Hard Times?

In this life, suffering is real. There is no escaping. Jesus suffered, and until we reunite with him so will we. However, our suffering is not wasted. God uses our suffering to encourage dependence on Christ’s mighty power. Though we will all suffer in various ways the mission continues. Between now and heaven don’t become distracted by or consumed with empty human philosophies or traditions. Instead keep your eyes and heart fully and solely set on Christ.

It All Matters

As Christians our belief is not primarily about ‘what’ but ‘who.’ Jesus is our central belief. The Good News of Jesus; his death, burial and resurrection is the foundation upon which our entire faith is built. He died and rose again to rescue us from sin and shame. He purchased our freedom and forgiveness at a great cost to himself. He paid everything. Jesus is supreme; he created all and he is ruler over all. We must be careful not to drift from Jesus but hold tight to him, while also freely sharing him with others.

Our spoken words don’t just shape our mindset—they can also reflect where we place our trust. Scripture reminds us that “life and death are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21). When we speak lies about ourselves we’re echoing the enemy’s voice instead of God’s. But when we declare the truth of who Christ—found in His Word—we align our minds and hearts with His promises, allowing His truth to reprogram our thinking and shape our reality in Him.
