When a Nation Forgets God, Judges 8:32-35

“Knowing the Time, WAKE UP!” Romans 13:11

In light of the recent Supreme Court ruling which was in favor of the gay marriage issue (5-4), we look at some vitally important passages of Scripture in God’s Word today-passages that we should all be fully aware of so we can be prepared and ready to give an answer and sure defense of our Faith and of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In this passage, the great Apostle Paul warns all of us that we should be aware that the time for the Lord’s return is drawing much nearer than when we first believed. And if the 2nd Coming of Christ is so near, the Rapture of the Church is even closer-just around the corner. 
 
This undoubtedly was an unwelcome ruling and we do continue to pray for those who rule over us. But this ruling does not negate our responsibilities as Christians to do all we can to inform the lost of their plight if they don’t repent of sin and turn completely to faith and belief in Jesus Christ; and to encourage the saved to be ready to meet the Lord. As believers, we need to know how to handle ourselves during this difficult time period and what we should expect in the coming months, realizing our responsibility is to obey God rather than man. 
 
The Word of God says that Christians are the children of the day and not of the night (1 Thessalonians 5:5). So we ought to know who we are, what we are doing, why we are here and where we are going. If you don’t know this, you can find out today. In this message, Pastor Ragsdale shares seven facts about the endtimes we now find ourselves living in.

What Bible do you hold in your hand? 
 
In religious circles there has been an ongoing discussion on the veracity of Bible versions. Which one is correct, easiest to read, culturally relevant, and which one do I like the best? Does it really matter? Why all the fuss? 
 
BIBLE TRIVIA 
*There are now currently now over 200 Bible Versions available with a new one coming out every 3-6 months 
*There are only 5 Bibles that have been transliterated (conversion of a text from one script to another) 
*Out of those 5, only 1, the KJB, was transliterated from the Received Text, the original texts of the early church fathers which was called the Textus Receptus later changed in the Latin to The Received Text 
*The other 4 Bibles were transliterated (the New Testaments)from the Westcott-Hort text: NAS, NIV, TNKJ, RS. Please research these men: Westcott-Hort in the late 1800’s - to early 1900’s. 
*All the other 195+ versions are translated i.e., paraphrased, or simply man’s interpretation 
 
Can all these Bibles be accurate? Have any been corrupted? Or has the intention with all these multi-versions been to divide, confuse and conquer? 
 
We know too well who is the author of division and confusion. And if anything divides the Christian community, it is the Word of God...the version used and the context written within that version. “Calvary Makes the Difference” Luke 22:29-34 
 
How many of us like to take journeys? I think we all do to some extent especially if it is an enjoyable journey. Like a well needed vacation to a place we’ve always dreamed about going to. 
Well, the Lord Jesus went on a journey while here on earth, but it wasn’t a pleasant one. He took a path none of us would willingly choose to walk. His path was a journey to a place called Calvary. It was a path of burdens and suffering. A path of blame and accusations of others - from the community to the government - even betrayal from a close friend. He suffered excruciating pain on His journey. And not just physical pain. He suffered the pain of rejection. The pain of being separated from His Father which He had never before known. The physical pain was unbearable. Death on the cross was excruciating. It was a repulsive pain - but thanks be to God - it was a redemptive pain that offered complete and eternal pardon - to all who have a repentant heart and fear God. A repentant heart expresses faith in Christ and is given forgiveness.

“The idea that all religions point to the same God is blasphemy. So is the idea that there are many ways to God. Buddha, Mary, Gaia, Mohammed and Christ are not equal. They do not all carry equal weight with the triune God of the Bible. Just one was God’s ‘only begotten Son,’ and only He gives us access to God.” 
“Because Jesus is the Son of God, His sacrifice was the payment for the sin of those who seek Him.” 
“No matter what your question or need, the Cross is God’s last argument. It is an argument of love; it was not the nails of the cross that held Him there, it was love.”

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 
 
We continue with "The Battle in Your Mind,” Part 2. 
 
As we continue to pursue a godly Christian walk in this life, we are going to need help - and mainly we need help because of the daily fights we face in the depths of our minds. You say, "Won't God help me with my mind? This is too hard for me!" 
Yes, God will help us...in fact He has provided the tools for you to use in this battle. The first and most important thing He provided for was for your eternal salvation and destiny. And He has done that when He sent His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to die on the cross as payment for your sins and rise again from the dead three days later. The very moment you call on Him to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart and life, your eternal destiny will be settled and sealed. 
But living the Christian life in the here and now is dependent upon how you control your mind. God will not control your mind for you. He gave us a free will and choice. You have to do this yourself and there is a formula, if you will, for controlling your mind. Philippians gives us insight as to how we can “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ”… 
We need to Clear our mind, Clean our mind up, Convert our mind, Correct our mind, and Coach our mind. Are you ready for the challenge? Join us today as Pastor Ragsdale completes this two part message on “The Battle in Your Mind.”

Did you know that there are four basic levels when it comes the category of “Thankfulness?” There are four different types or groups of people...those who are constantly complaining and murmuring about everything, those with simple ingratitude in general, and then there are those with obvious gratefulness and those who choose to give thanks for everything in spite of what they see or feel. Which group are you in today? We've all been in the first two groups. Let’s try to move past our disgruntledness, murmuring and complaining to a position of praise and thanksgiving in all circumstances. If you can do this my friend, you will be on your way to a more happy and enjoyable life.

Ephesians 5:20
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Did you know that there are four basic levels when it comes the category of “Thankfulness?” There are four different types or groups of people...those who are constantly complaining and murmuring about everything, those with simple ingratitude in general, and then there are those with obvious gratefulness and those who choose to give thanks for everything in spite of what they see or feel. Which group are you in today? We've all been in the first two groups. Let’s try to move past our disgruntledness, murmuring and complaining to a position of praise and thanksgiving in all circumstances. If you can do this my friend, you will be on your way to a more happy and enjoyable life.

There is one thing about pain. We all experience it. 
You might ask “What good can possibly come from the pain I am going through right now? Is God really aware of my situation and the terrible things I am experiencing in my life or in the life of my friends and loved ones? Does He really care? How could a loving God allow this in my life?” We believe there are answers to all these questions in God’s Word. From today’s passage in the book of Romans, we’ll look at the universality of pain - who it affects and why. And don’t kid yourself. Everyone you know is in some kind of pain whether physically or emotionally, mentally, and yes, even spiritual pain. In this message Pastor Ragsdale shares from his own life experiences and the comfort he has found from the Word of God that’s sharper than a two-edged sword...rightly dividing the Word of Truth so we can find answers...real answers to our dilemma. Have you every known someone who is bitter? I mean, really bitter? They are not pleasant to be around are they. But can you see bitterness in yourself at times? Sometimes we don't see our own problems and only see the imperfections of those around us. It would be a good idea to do a 'check' on our lives to see if bitterness is spreading in our own hearts. The Bible tells us that bitterness is like a cancer and it multiplies and spreads...not only endangering us spiritually, emotionally, and physically but we spread the cancer of bitterness to those around us. Isn't just "BELIEVE!"? a too simplified answer for this important question? Here in Psalms chapter 80 we have a Prayer for National Revival by a Patriot for Israel. I trust that you, too, will become a Patriot for America and pray for a National Revival in America. 
 
Proverbs 29:2 
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. 
 
There are many similarities to the Nation of Israel and The United States of America. Both were Planted by God Himself. Both were Prospered by God Himself. And both were Protected by God Himself. 
 
Even with all this protection and abundance, both nations have had a time of turning away from God and now their very existence is at stake. Their once propsperous coffers of resources are disentegrating due to lack of leadership in government which in turn affects the economy, the weather, out of control, which affects the growing seasons such as floods, famine, pestilence and sometimes even sabotage. 
 
And now even the protection that we had once enjoyed and took for granted given by God Himself...that Special Spiritual and Yet Visibly Fortified Hedge of Thorns of Protection has been lifted very noticably off of the United States, beginning with the Bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese and by other home grown tragedies such as the bombings in Oklahoma and the WT building in New York several years ago and now the most recent, the Setpember 11, 2001 destruction of the World Twin Towers. 
 
Yet with all of our offenses as a nation and as individuals, God promises that if we will return to Him, He will return to us. 
 
There's a lot of discussion lately about impeaching our current President and there are many factors that are being weighed in the balance...and it is a feasible possibility that this might happen. But keep in mind, our sins - as a nation and individually have come to the attention of God, Almighty. The King of Kings. The Supreme Judge and Ruler of the Universe. And although He is interested in human affairs and government, He is even more interested in the spiritual affairs of the human heart and our eternal souls.

Don't you think that our good works will be weighed against our bad works and whichever weighs the most, that will determine our final destiny - be it Heaven or Hell? I haven't murdered any one. I give to the church and to a lot of good causes and charities. Will all this make a difference when it comes time for everything to be weighed in the balance? Isn't just "BELIEVE!"? a too simplified answer for this important question? Prior to His public ministry He was mentioned as the Carpenter's son in Matthew 13:55 and a Carpenter in Mark 6:3 and then He was found in the temple at age 12 teaching the Scribes. 
But there are other fascinating things that we will learn about Jesus in today's message that will settle once and for all whether we are saved by good works or not.
