Leadership is a fascinating subject.  It is just fascinating how there can be so much variety in the leadership of men.  But for us believers, for Christ followers, for worshippers of the one and only true God, there is only one kind of leadership that can be preeminent.  Our God teaches us a kind of leadership that is not natural; it is supernatural.  It is a leadership that is very different from that which this world knows about and values.  In the final analysis it’s the only kind of leadership that really matters.  It is the leadership perfectly embodied in the life of our Savior.  It is the kind of leadership that Jesus taught about and insisted upon.

Lessons In Leadership - Ezra 8:21-23

There are no throw away lines in Scripture.  Every word of God is tested.  Every word of God is refined, which is to say it is pure.  Every word of God represents unimaginable treasure.  We have God's words!  There is nothing that comes from the mouth of God that isn't infinitely weighty, perfectly true, absolutely binding, completely trustworthy and profoundly important.

We Walk By Faith - 2 Corinthians 5:7

There are two great and unbiblical divides that exist in the minds of many people when it comes to the matter of salvation. 
 
The first unbiblical division is a division between a willingness to receive the work of Christ on behalf of sinners and a willingness to receive Christ Himself. It is the idea that one can receive the work of Christ on his or her behalf while rejecting the personal rule of Christ. 
 
The second unbiblical and eternally dangerous separation is one that is front and center before us in this passage. It is the unbiblical thought that salvation can change someone's status with God without changing them.

God's Workmanship - Ephesians 2:10

Paul prays for believers in Ephesus and asks that God would grant to them, by the Holy Spirit, the knowledge of the surpassingly great power of God that was known in His calling and that assures them of their future inheritance.  This power is of the same kind of working that God worked in the resurrection of Christ.  This power is also the same kind of working that God worked in the exaltation of Christ.

The Christian & The Person of Christ - Ephesians 1:19-23

In these verses Jesus is shepherding the people who asked Him the questions about the end of the age. He also sovereignly is shepherding the people who would one day read His answers.  He is shepherding us.

An Age of Disruption - Luke 21:9-11

Does your understanding of what it means to be a Christian require power for the making of a Christian? If you say yes, then I would ask, what kind of power is required?  Is it a power superior to anything found in man himself?  Is it a power outside of man that is required?  Or do people become Christians and experience everything that the Bible says Christians experience by virtue of some power that resides in man? However people conceive of it, it is absolutely true to say that in the minds of many people what being a Christian is not, is a spiritual condition produced by divine power.

The Christian & The Power Of God - Ephesians 1:19-23

Jesus said that false prophets would be coming. When Jesus gives these warnings there were no questions about the end of the age. These kinds of warnings are not just for the great tribulation period. These kinds of warnings would be needed for the rest of time.

An Age of Deception - Luke 21:8

Jesus is shepherding His people.  He is shepherding not only the people who stood before Him, but also all the people whom He would save after them, including us.  God cares for His people not only through the outworking of providence, but also by the provision of truth.

Until Jesus Comes - Luke 21:8-9

In all of our conversations with Christians how much talk is there about the eternal state?  How much talk about Heaven?  Or, to put it in the terms of our verses in Ephesians, how much discussion do you have with other Christians about our future inheritance?

The good news is that man will not destroy this planet, but one day God will.  The Bible teaches us all we need to know.
