I will restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents and have compassion on his dwellings. The city will be rebuilt on her ruins, and the palace will stand in its proper place (Jeremiah 30:18). From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased. I will bring them honour, and they will not be disdained (Jeremiah 30:19). Their children will be as in days of old, and their community established before me. I will punish all who oppress them (Jeremiah 30:20). Their leader will be one of their own, their ruler will arise from among them. I will bring Him near and He will come close to me (Jeremiah 30:21). So you will be my people and I will be your God (Jeremiah 30:22). See, the storm of the Lord will burst out in wrath, a driving wind swirling down on the heads of the wicked (Jeremiah 30:23). The fierce anger of the Lord will not turn back until He accomplishes the purpose of His heart. In days to come you will understand this (Jeremiah 30:24). 
Thought for today: be thankful for what you have, don’t be anxious for what you don’t have. 
Thought for the future: the richest people in the world are those who invest in heaven. Where will you spend your eternity?

Song # 1492.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. In the Book of Jeremiah in chapter 51 we read that God is the Maker of all things. 
He made the earth by His power, He founded the world by His wisdom, and stretched out the heavens by His understanding (Jeremiah 51:15). When He thunders, the waters in the heavens roar, He makes the clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with rain and brings out the wind from His storehouses (Jeremiah 51:16). Every man is senseless and without knowledge, every goldsmith is shamed by his idols. His images are a fraud, they have no breath in them (Jeremiah 51:17). They are worthless, the objects of mockery, when their judgement comes, they will perish (Jeremiah 51:18). He who is the Portion of Jacob is not like these, for He is the Maker of all things, including the tribe of His inheritance, the Lord Almighty is His name (Jeremiah 51:19). 
Thought for today: one of God’s greatest presents, is His presence in our life.

#1492.1- Maker Of All Things - (Jeremiah 51:15-19)

Song # 1490.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. In Jeremiah chapter 31 we read that the Lord declares that He will make a new covenant, but it will not be like the covenant He made with their forefathers when He took His people out of Egypt. 
“The time is coming” declares the Lord, “when I make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah” (Jeremiah 31:31). “It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant” (Jeremiah 31:32). “This is the covenant that I will make with them” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people” (Jeremiah 31:33). “No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying ‘Know the Lord’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest” declares the Lord. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more” (Jeremiah 31:34). I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known, then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass (Isaiah 48:3). For I knew how stubborn you were (Isaiah 48:4). Therefore I told you these things long ago, before they happened I announced them to you so that you could not say “My idols did them, my wooden image and metal god ordained them” (Isaiah 48:5). #1484.1- I Foretold Things - (Isaiah 48:1-8)

Oh people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious He will be when you cry for help! As soon as He hears, He will answer you (Isaiah 30:19). Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more, with your own eyes you will see them (Isaiah 30:20). Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying “This is the way, walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21). Then you will defile your idols overlaid with silver and your images covered with gold: you will throw them away and say to them “Away with you” (Isaiah 30:22). He will also send you rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the food that comes from the land will be rich and plentiful. In that day your cattle will graze in broad meadows (Isaiah 30:23). Thought for today: the richest people in the world are those who invest in heaven. 
Thought for the future: no matter where you turn in life, you can always turn to God. Where will you spend your eternity?

#1474.1- Tremble In My Presence - (Jeremiah 5:21-31)

But those who have Jesus in their heart, and trust in Him, will be taken into heaven with Jesus and their sin banished for ever.

The hearts of men are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterwards they join the dead (Ecclesiastes 9:3). Anyone who is among the living has hope (Ecclesiastes 9:4). The living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten (Ecclesiastes 9:5). Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished, never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun (Ecclesiastes 9:6). Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favours what you do (Ecclesiastes 9:7). Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil (Ecclesiastes 9:8). Enjoy life with your loved ones, all the days of your life that God has given you. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labour under the sun (Ecclesiastes 9:9). Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom (Ecclesiastes 9:10). 
Thought for today: Jesus knows the way to heaven, so follow Him for eternity. 
Thought for the future: man does not live on bread alone, but on the word that comes from God. Where will you spend your eternity?

See, the storm of the Lord will burst out in wrath, a whirlwind swirling down on the heads of the wicked (Jeremiah 23:19). See, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with justice (Isaiah 32:1). Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen (Isaiah 32:3). The mind of the rash will know and understand, and the stammering tongue will be fluent and clear (Isaiah 32:4). No longer will the fool be called noble, nor the scoundrel be highly respected (Isaiah 32:5). For the fool speaks folly, his mind is busy with evil. He practises ungodliness and spreads error concerning the Lord. The hungry he leaves empty and from the thirsty he withholds water (Isaiah 32:6). The scoundrel’s methods are wicked, he makes up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just (Isaiah 32:7). But the noble man makes noble plans, and by noble deeds he stands (Isaiah 32:8). 
Thought for today: forgiving is Christianity in practice. 
Thought for the future: patience is a virtue, understanding is knowledge, loving is godly. Where will you spend your eternity?

Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices, together they shout for joy. When the Lord returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes (Isaiah 52:8). Burst into songs of joy together, you ruins of Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem (Isaiah 52:9). The Lord will lay bare His holy arm in the sight of all nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God (Isaiah 52:10). Depart, depart, go out from there! #1462.1- Disaster Will Come - (Isaiah 10:1-4)

If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching (1 Timothy 6:3), he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions (1 Timothy 6:4), and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain (1 Timothy 6:5). Song # 1447.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. We read in the Book of Acts in chapter 13 that Barnabas and Saul were sent to Cyprus to spread the Good News of Jesus and the Gospel. 
Barnabas and Saul were sent by the Holy Spirit to sail to Cyprus (Acts 13:4). When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper (Acts 13:5). They travelled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus (Acts 13:6), who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God (Acts 13:7). But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith (Acts 13:8). Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said (Acts 13:9). “You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?” (Acts 13:10). “Now the hand of the Lord is against you. You are going to be blind, and for a time you will be unable to see the light of the sun.” Immediately mist and darkness came over the sorcerer, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand (Acts 13:11). When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord (Acts 13:12). 
Thought for today: we can please our God through praising Him.

As Peter travelled the country, he went to visit the Saints in Lydda (Acts 9:32). There he found a man named Aeneas, a paralytic who had been bed-ridden for eight years (Acts 9:33). “Aeneas” Peter said to him “Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and tidy up your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up (Acts 9:34). All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord (Acts 9:35). In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (Dorcas), who was always doing good and helping the poor (Acts 9:36). About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room (Acts 9:37). Lydda was near Joppa, so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him “Please come at once!” (Acts 9:38). Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Tabitha had made while she was still with them (Acts 9:39). Peter sent them all out of the room, then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning towards the dead woman, he said “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up (Acts 9:40). He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called the believers and the widows and presented her to them alive (Acts 9:41). Both Tabitha (Aramaic) and Dorcas (Greek) mean gazelle. 
Thought for today: to show you love God, share your love with others.

Time came when the beggar died and the Angels carried Lazarus to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried (Luke 16:22). In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side (Luke 16:23). So the rich man called to him “Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire” (Luke 16:24).
