Sonship means coming of age - from a slave to a friend, from a minor to an adult. "Before faith came" Israel was a minor, under the schoolmaster, waiting for the Messiah to come. Now that "faith has come", the Old Covenant is laid aside for the administration of Grace. Those that are believers are now Sons of God, and children of God - adult worshipers. As adult worshipers, as believer priests, we, now are indwelt with God Holy Spirit - the Spirit of adoption, and live under the administration of Grace. Journey up Mt  Moriah - Gen. 22:5-9

In Covenant Theology, the Seed of Gal. 3:16 can only mean Christ, and can only be interpreted as a spiritual seed receiving a spiritual blessing. We believe that the meritorious cause of all blessing flow from the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus - Seed not seeds, but  the blessings of the New Covenant comes upon national Israel as well as the Church. The cities of Refuge are an amazing provision of God's mercy. Such a provision ultimately points to the Lord Jesus as our Redeemer. Our need for a Redeemer, for a Him to pay a ransom for us, is seen in that we have all sinned, yes, even guilty of murder God in cold blood, and the avenger of blood was in hot pursuit after us. Questions from Galatians 3:2-5

The Apostle Paul after vindicating his calling, and thereby authenticating his Gospel as being from God is now ready to begin to deal with the erroring Galatians. The Apostle Paul starts with what the Galatians had experience as they came to the Lord Jesus in saving faith. The Galatians knowledge and experience was fundamental and sufficient. The Apostle Peter has come to Antioch and there he is met with an open rebuke from the Apostle Paul. Why? Peter and Paul preached the same gospel, but Peter and Paul did not practice the same gospel as it has to do with it applying to the fellowship and acceptance of Gentile believes in the Lord. The Apostle Peter was living as a gentile, while he compelled the gentiles to live as Jews by his actions. Abram believes God and it is accounted to him for righteousness. Wasn't Abram a believer already? Back in Gen. 12, according to Heb. 11:8. In God removing Abram's fears, the promise of "the Seed" comes to the for front. Abram is seeing Messiah's day, and rejoicing in it, and that by strong justifying faith. The ways of a forgetful hearer - James 1:21-24

Our Lord Jesus declares -"ye shall know them by their fruits..". The message of the false prophet as not changed much from Old Testament to New. It is still "Peace, Peace". This is not the peace that comes from being justified before God and enjoying new life in Christ, but such is a peace of self confidence, self indulgence and carnality. These false preachers of our day, like the false prophets of old, preach and teach a salvation not from sin, but from hell, and human consequences. Charge to the young people and to the young of heart from 2 Timothy 2:22. The zeal and urgency to flee from all sin, even as see Joseph fleeing from Pother's wife. The prophetic Scriptures foretold the coming arrival of the Son of God to Bethlehem, but also the prophetic Scriptures foretold of our Lord's move from Galilee to  Capernaum. Is it easy to be saved, as some preachers declare? Is being saved an easy way, as some think? No cross, no trials, leave out suffering, afflictions, persecution for the cause of Christ? The Lord Jesus instructs His church not to be like the heathen in matter of how they seek material possessions. Seeking should never be a matter of survival. When the nation of Israel stood before Mt. Sinai, God was about to make a covenant with this newly redeemed nation. Israel knew what this agreement entailed, but as time progressed, and as we come now to the New Testament, Israel had lost, or perverted the use of the Law. It was no longer promise, but debt!
