Song # 932.2 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. The Book of Matthew tells us in chapter 27 of the death of Jesus. 
While crucified on the cross (Matthew 27:35), from the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land (Matthew 27:45). About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46). When some of those standing near heard this, they said “He’s calling Elijah” (Matthew 27:47). Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink (Matthew 27:48). The rest said “Now leave Him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save Him” (Matthew 27:49). And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He gave up His Spirit (Matthew 27:50). At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split (Matthew 27:51). The tombs broke open and the bodies of the many holy people who had died were raised to life (Matthew 27:52). They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus’ resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people (Matthew 27:53). When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed “Surely He was the Son of God” (Matthew 27:54). Many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for His needs (Matthew 27:55). Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons (Matthew 27:56). 
Thought for today: eyes of faith see God’s work. 
Thought for the future: know Jesus - know salvation. No Jesus - no salvation. Where will you spend your eternity?

Song # 763.2 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. We read in Matthew chapter 20 that Jesus healed two blind men He encountered near Jericho. 
As Jesus and His disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him (Matthew 20:29). Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” (Matthew 20:30). The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” (Matthew 20:31). Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” He asked (Matthew 20:32). “Lord” they answered “we want our sight” (Matthew 20:33). Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed Him (Matthew 20:34). 
Thought for today: with God, all things are possible. 
Thought for the future: His love was shown when He came as a man. Where will you spend your eternity?

#763.2- Healing Two Blind Men - (Matthew 20:29-34)

Song # 1967.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. In the Book of Acts we read in chapter 17 that Paul and Silas went to Thessalonica and Paul spoke in the synagogue. But some Jews became jealous and created trouble for them. 
Paul and Silas passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia and they came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue (Acts 17:1). As his custom was, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures (Acts 17:2), explaining and proving that the Christ had to suffer and rise from the dead. “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Christ” he said (Acts 17:3). Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and not a few prominent women (Acts 17:4). But the Jews were jealous, so they rounded up some bad characters from the market-place, formed a mob and started a riot in the city. They rushed to Jason’s house in search of Paul and Silas to bring them out to the crowd (Acts 17:5). But they did not find them (Acts 17:6). 
Thought for today: no-one is more secure than those in God’s hands. 
Thought for the future: thank God for what you have, trust God for what you need. Where will you spend your eternity?

 Paul and his companions travelled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia (Acts 16:6). When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to (Acts 16:7). So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas (Acts 16:8). During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him “Come over to Macedonia and help us” (Acts 16:9). After Paul had seen the vision, they got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called them to preach the Gospel to them (Acts 16:10). 
Thought for today: enjoy the abundance of God’s gifts, but never forget the Giver. 
Thought for the future: God can do extraordinary things through ordinary people. Where will you spend your eternity?

#1966.1- Paul's Vision - (Acts 16:6-10)

Paul and Silas travelled to Derbe and then to Lystra, where a disciple named Timothy lived. Timothy’s mother was a Jewess and a believer, and his father was a Greek (Acts 16:1). The brothers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of Timothy (Acts 16:2). Paul wanted to take Timothy along on the journey with him (Acts 16:3). As they travelled from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the Apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey (Acts 16:4). So the Churches were strengthened in faith and grew daily in numbers (Acts 16:5). 
Thought for today: you have all you need in life when you have God in your life. 
Thought for the future: man does not live on bread alone, but on the word that comes from God. Where will you spend your eternity?

#1965.1- Paul And Timothy - (Acts 16:1-5)

Song # 1275.2 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. In the Book of Exodus, in chapter 31, we are told that we may work for six days. But the seventh day, the Sabbath, is a day of rest, just as God rested on the seventh day, after creating heaven and earth and all that is in it. 
The Lord said to Moses (Exodus 31:12). “Say to the Israelites ‘You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you and for the generations to come, so that you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy (Exodus 31:13). Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from his people (Exodus 31:14). For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord (Exodus 31:15). The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant (Exodus 31:16). It will be a sign between me and the Israelites for ever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He abstained from work and rested’ ” (Exodus 31:17). When the Lord finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, He gave him the two tablets of the Testimony, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God (Exodus 31:18). 
Thought for today: God’s hand is in everything, so leave everything in God’s hand. 
Thought for the future: our living God can take the fear out of living. Where will you spend your eternity?

When Jesus and His disciples came to a crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before Him (Matthew 17:14). “Lord, have mercy on my son” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water” (Matthew 17:15). “I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him” (Matthew 17:16). “Oh unbelieving and perverse generation” Jesus said “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me” (Matthew 17:17). Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment (Matthew 17:18). Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” (Matthew 17:19). Jesus replied “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20). 
Thought for today: pray to God, and if it is His will, you will receive. 
Thought for the future: God’s love won’t keep us from trials, but it will help us to get through them. Where will you spend your eternity?

#772.2- The Mustard Seed - (Matthew 17:14-20)

Song # 1657.2 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. In Revelation we read that John was told by the Lord to write to the seven Churches. These were located in Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis , Philadelphia and Laodicea. In chapter 2, we read in John’s letter to the Church in Smyrna that he warns them to beware of those who say they are Jews, but are a synagogue of Satan. Even though John’s letters were written some 2,000 years ago, they are still very relevant to us today. 
These are the words of Him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again (Revelation 2:8). He knows your afflictions and your poverty, yet you are rich. He knows the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan (Revelation 2:9). Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and the Lord will give you the crown of life (Revelation 2:10). He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death (Revelation 2:11). 
Thought for today: when Jesus returns, it will be heaven for those who trust and believe in Him. 
Thought for the future: to be in heaven tomorrow, you need God in your heart today. Where will you spend your eternity?

Song # 776.2 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. Luke tells us in chapter 18 that Jesus restored the sight of a blind man who was begging on the side of the road. (Matthew tells us his name is Bartimaeus - Matt 10:46). 
As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging (Luke 18:35). When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening (Luke 18:36). They told him “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by” (Luke 18:37). He called out “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Luke 18:38). Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more “Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Luke 18:39). Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to Him. When the man came near, Jesus asked him (Luke 18:40), “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see” he replied (Luke 18:41). Jesus said to him “Receive your sight, your faith has healed you” (Luke 18:42). Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God (Luke 18:43). 
Thought for today: trust in God today and prepare for your tomorrow. 
Thought for the future: make Christ your mission, not omission. Where will you spend your eternity?

#776.2- Bartimaeus Receives His Sight - (Luke 18:35-43)

Song # 1964.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. Not everything in our Christian life will go as planned, and sometimes we may have disagreements with others as happened between Paul and Barnabas that we read about in Acts chapter 15. 
Some time later after they had arrived in Antioch, Paul said to Barnabas “Let us go back and visit the brothers in all the towns where we have preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing” (Acts 15:35-36). Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them (Acts 15:37). But Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work (Acts 15:38). They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus (Acts 15:39), but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord (Acts 15:40). He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the Churches (Acts 15:41). 
Thought for today: when you follow Jesus, you’re on the righteous path. 
Thought for the future: there is only one Saviour with an empty tomb, so follow Jesus for life. Where will you spend your eternity?

Then He touched their eyes and said “According to your faith it will be done to you” (Matthew 9:29). And their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly “See that no-one knows about this” (Matthew 9:30). But they went out and spread the news about Him all over that region (Matthew 9:31). The crowd was amazed and said “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel” (Matthew 9:33).

#777.2- Healing The Blind And Mute - (Matthew 9:27-33)

Song # 787.2 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. Luke tells us in chapter 22, that after the Last Supper, Jesus went with His disciples to pray on the Mount of Olives. There, a crowd led by Judas Iscariot, the betrayer, arrives and Jesus is arrested. 
Jesus went as usual to the Mount of Olives, and His disciples followed Him (Luke 22:39). On reaching the place, He said to them “Pray that you will not fall into temptation” (Luke 22:40). Jesus withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed (Luke 22:41). “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me, yet not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42). An Angel from heaven appeared to Jesus and strengthened Him (Luke 22:43). And being in anguish, Jesus prayed more earnestly, and His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground (Luke 22:44). When Jesus rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, He found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow (Luke 22:45). “Why are you sleeping?” He asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation” (Luke 22:46). While He was speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. Judas approached Jesus to kiss Him (Luke 22:47), but Jesus asked him “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?” (Luke 22:48). When the followers of Jesus saw what was going to happen, they said “Lord, should we strike with our swords?” (Luke 22:49). And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear (Luke 22:50). But Jesus answered “No more of this!” And He touched the man’s ear and healed him (Luke 22:51). Song # 787.2 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. Luke tells us in chapter 22, that after the Last Supper, Jesus went with His disciples to pray on the Mount of Olives. There, a crowd led by Judas Iscariot, the betrayer, arrives and Jesus is arrested.  
Jesus went as usual to the Mount of Olives, and His disciples followed Him (Luke 22:39). On reaching the place, He said to them “Pray that you will not fall into temptation” (Luke 22:40). Jesus withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed (Luke 22:41). “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me, yet not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42). An Angel from heaven appeared to Jesus and strengthened Him (Luke 22:43). And being in anguish, Jesus prayed more earnestly, and His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground (Luke 22:44). When Jesus rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, He found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow (Luke 22:45). “Why are you sleeping?” He asked them.

A man named Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, came and fell at the feet of Jesus, and pleaded with Jesus to come to his house (Luke 8:41), because his only daughter, a girl about twelve, was dying. As Jesus was on His way, the crowds almost crushed Him (Luke 8:42). And a woman was there who had been the subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no-one could heal her (Luke 8:43). She came up behind Jesus and touched the edge of His cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped (Luke 8:44). “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you” (Luke 8:45). But Jesus said “Someone touched me, I know that power has gone out of me” (Luke 8:46). Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at His feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched Him and how she had been instantly healed (Luke 8:47). Then Jesus said to her “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace” (Luke 8:48). While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. “Your daughter is dead” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher any more” (Luke 8:49). Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus “Don’t be afraid, just believe, and she will be healed” (Luke 8:50). When Jesus arrived at the house of Jairus, He did not let anyone go in with Him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother (Luke 8:51). Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing” Jesus said “She is not dead but asleep” (Luke 8:52). They laughed at Him, knowing that she was dead (Luke 8:53). But Jesus took her by the hand and said “My child, get up!” (Luke 8:54). Her Spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat (Luke 8:55). Her parents were astonished, but Jesus ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened (Luke 8:56). 
Thought for today: no-one is more secure than those in God’s hands.

Song # 778.2 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. In the Book of Matthew we read in chapter 15 that Jesus went up a mountainside and a crowd of some 4,000 besides women and children came to Jesus and He healed many. 
Jesus went along the Sea of Galilee then went up on a mountainside and sat down (Matthew 15:29). Great crowds came to Him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at His feet, and He healed them (Matthew 15:30). The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel (Matthew 15:31). Jesus called His disciples to Him and said “I have compassion for these people, they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way” (Matthew 15:32). His disciples answered “Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?” (Matthew 15:33). “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked. “Seven” they replied “and a few small fish” (Matthew 15:34). Jesus told the crowd to sit down on the ground (Matthew 15:35). Then He took the seven loaves and the fish, and when He had given thanks, He broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people (Matthew 15:36). They all ate and were satisfied. Afterwards the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over (Matthew 15:37). The number of those who ate was four thousand, besides women and children (Matthew 15:38). After Jesus had sent the crowd away, He got into a boat and went to the vicinity of Magadan (Matthew 15:39). 
Thought for today: we can’t see God’s hand, but we can trust His heart.

Jesus went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and on the Sabbath began to teach the people (Luke 4:31). They were amazed at His teaching, because His message had authority (Luke 4:32). In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an evil spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice (Luke 4:33), “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are - the Holy One of God!” (Luke 4:34). “Be quiet” Jesus sternly said “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him (Luke 4:35). All the people were amazed and said to each other “What is this teaching? With authority and power He gives orders to evil spirits and they come out!” (Luke 4:36). #775.2- The Possessed Man Of Capernaum - (Luke 4:31-37)

Song # 765.2 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. Luke tells us in chapter 17 that Jesus met ten lepers by the roadside, and He healed them. But only one came back to thank Him, and praise God. 
On His way to Jerusalem, Jesus travelled along the border between Samaria and Galilee (Luke 17:11). As He was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met Him. They stood at a distance (Luke 17:12), and called out in a loud voice “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” (Luke 17:13). When Jesus saw them, He said “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed (Luke 17:14). One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back to Jesus, praising God in a loud voice (Luke 17:15). He threw himself at the feet of Jesus and thanked Him, and he was a Samaritan (Luke 17:16). Jesus asked “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?” (Luke 17:17). “Was no-one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” (Luke 17:18). Then Jesus said to the man “Rise and go, your faith has made you well” (Luke 17:19).

After feeding the five thousand, Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowd (Matthew 14:21-22). After He had dismissed them, He went up on a mountainside by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone (Matthew 14:23), but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it (Matthew 14:24). During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake (Matthew 14:25). When the disciples saw Him walking on the lake, they were terrified “It’s a ghost” they said, and cried out in fear (Matthew 14:26). But Jesus immediately said to them “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid” (Matthew 14:27). “Lord, if it’s you” Peter replied “tell me to come to you on the water” (Matthew 14:28). “Come” Jesus said. Then Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water and came towards Jesus (Matthew 14:29). But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out “Lord, save me!” (Matthew 14:30). Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught Peter saying “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31). And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down (Matthew 14:32). Then those who were in the boat worshipped Him, saying “Truly you are the Son of God” (Matthew 14:33). When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret (Matthew 14:34).
